We are thrilled to announce that Gail Greenwell has been elected as the President of our Board at Sacred Waters Sanctuary. Gail's profound leadership, unwavering dedication, and heartfelt connection to our community make her an extraordinary choice for this role.

Since joining our Sangha with her partner George, in March last year, Gail has become a cornerstone of our community. Her contributions have been invaluable: organizing community events, co-leading integration circles with George, advising our leadership team, and embodying the transformative wisdom of Sacred Acacia in her own healing journey.

Gail’s experiences in ceremony have deeply resonated with her, opening her heart to more healing and strengthening her commitment to fostering sacred spaces for connection, growth, and healing. Her background as a spiritual leader, non-profit leadership coach, and former Cathedral Dean of an inclusive and progressive Christian church in Ohio, brings a wealth of expertise to her leadership at Sacred Waters Sanctuary.

With a career spanning decades, Gail has facilitated transformational change in diverse communities, demonstrating her talent for nurturing leaders and fostering collaboration. Her compassionate leadership, coupled with her deep spiritual insight, ensures that Sacred Waters Sanctuary will continue to grow as a haven for purpose-driven change-makers and spiritual seekers.

We are honored to have Gail step into this role and look forward to her guidance as we continue to serve our vibrant community.

Please join us in celebrating and welcoming Gail Greenwell as the new President of our Board!

A Personal Note from Aria Tau

In 2019, I sat with Sacred Acacia for the first time. In that one profound journey, I shed lifetimes of pain, reconnected with the wisdom and power of my ancestral line, and saw my path forward with newfound clarity and purpose. This experience began a 5-year journey of healing, apprenticeship, and self-discovery that ultimately led me and other purpose-driven change-makers to found Sacred Waters Sanctuary.

The vision of creating a safe and sacred space where a diverse community can engage in transformative plant medicine ceremonies and learn spiritual empowerment tools to reach their highest potential, right here in the U.S., is an ambitious and powerful one. There have been many moments along the way when I felt overwhelmed, afraid, and weighed down by my inner critic.

In those moments, the spirit of Grandmother Acacia has always guided me with one simple word: trust. Every time I’ve felt unworthy, doubtful, or hesitant to take bold steps that defy expectations, I’ve witnessed divine signs and support—magical doors opening, unexpected help arriving, and wise, talented people showing up to say, "Let me help you build this."

Letting go of control and allowing the Universe to take the wheel has brought about incredible blessings, including meeting Gail and George. Gail has been one of those divine interventions—a mentor, a friend, an advisor, and a committed congregation member. She has brought a wealth of experience, wisdom, and grace that has enriched our community and my personal journey as a female spiritual leader. Her presence is truly a divine gift.

What Else Is Changing:

I will be stepping into the Board Secretary role, while continuing to lead Sacred Waters Sanctuary as Executive Director and Ceremonial Reverend.

Bridgitte Lynch has served our community in invaluable ways since before we officially became a non-profit in 2023. Her leadership and creative vision have been instrumental in shaping our values of compassion, radical acceptance, spirituality, and feminine leadership. While stepping down as Board Secretary, she will remain a central and cherished member of our community.

Gabriel Sky has grown remarkably in his role as clergy-in-training, apprenticing as a co-leader of our ceremonial retreats. He will now take on the formal role of Community Outreach Leader and Associate Clergy, continuing to expand his leadership on the retreat team, as a spiritual mentor in our programs and across our online channels.

Looking Ahead: Strengthening Our Board

As part of our commitment to effective leadership and governance, we are also actively seeking to staff a Treasurer for our Board. This role will ensure that Sacred Waters Sanctuary continues to operate with financial integrity and accountability, supporting the long-term sustainability of our mission.

If you or someone in your network has expertise in financial management and a passion for our vision, we invite you to reach out and join our efforts to create a safe and sacred space for transformation.
