May Yantra Theme: Divine Mother

Divine Mother. In honor of Mothers Day on Sunday May 12th, we are dedicating this Month's prayer concert to the Divine Mother. The Divine Mother is a sacred feminine archetype that has led people to find solace in troubled times and nourishment in all ways. She has been called: Mary, Mother of Mercy; Isis, the Egyptian goddess of nature and magic; Gaia, the Greek Earth goddess who is the life force of all creation; and Freya, the Norse goddess of abundance, fertility and war.

In Hinduism, she is called Sri Devi, who is the Mother of All. She has many incarnations; sometimes, she's the nurturing Parvati, and at others the ferocious Durga or the smiling Lakshmi ma, open and generous with her love. As the mother of all life, Devi is gentle, and is the god of nature and life because she brings rain and protects against disease. As mother of death (Kali), she is terrible. She is the goddess of creative power and represents all women in the universe.

To honor the full expression of the Mothers in our lives, and to share gratitude for their love and sacrifice, join us in song and prayer for Yantra 5/11.

April Featured Musicians

Maitreya Wolf

The feminine is the moon. She is the night. In the fertile darkness, we dream and make love. We create.

We're honored to have local medicine musician, Maitreya Wolf is headlining our May Yantra. We could not have hoped for a better embodiment of Divine Mother than this dynamic artist. She is a woman who stands in both her power and softness, holding both with grace.  Her music is deeply moving, connected with Source and emotive, carrying us on the wings of love into the fertile darkness within, She inspires us to release of fear, open our hearts to love and to begin planting, tending and nurturing the seeds of our dreams into abundance in our lives!

Aria Tau

Deeply connected with the Divine Mother, Aria will be once again sharing sacred mantra music in praise of Mother Devi and her incarnations across the Hindu pantheon of Goddesses. She will be joined by tabla player, Bela Daas, collaborating in a set of fusion-focused, East-meets-West classical compositions. Learning classical piano and vocals from the age of 7, Aria is a multi-instrument musician who sings in over 20 languages. In 2022, she travelled to the Peruvian Amazon jungle to learn the sacred songs of icaros, which she offers in our Sacred Acacia ceremonies for healing, protection and transformation.

As an artist, Aria is best known for her powerful organica medicine DJ sets where she sings live to dancers. For this event, Aria will be sharing from her acoustic repertoire, inviting the audience into deep surrender to the divine love of the goddess through Sanskrit mantras.

Heart-Opening Cacao Ceremony

We will be serving a special blend of Cacao with Ayurvedic herbs and medicinal mushrooms. Cacao opens the heart to greater connection with the Divine, our bodies, and each other. When we drink ceremonial cacao, which is the unprocessed version of chocolate, we are able to experience the full and potent effect of the sacred plant. Guests are also welcome to work with a microdose (BYOM) to experience greater openness to the music and its healing potential.
